It’s impossible to resist the divine style of Matt Straub, one of the artists whose work will be on display at the Toronto International Art Fair Oct. 28-31. Born in Wyoming, his evocative, comic-style, western themes flow from early years spent hitchhiking and train hopping across the plains.
“Straub reveals his deep nostalgia for the harsh landscapes of the American West & Canada by conveying the shared history of action, adventure, and violence in the Northern Plains of the West. The Mounties, ranchers, cowboys and Native Americans, heroes and outlaws are part of Straub’s ambiguous Pulp vision of the West.” Lyons Wier Gallery
