Serbian artist Vladimir Stankovic has created some new species in these animated illustrations in scientific style. His Cephalopodoptera series blends Octopus, squid, moths and beetles into fantasy creatures. Nice GIFs.

Yeah, I’m just not a fan of gifs, but it’s cool that he’s experimenting with the newest technology. But I still like his take on the old-fashioned insect drawings more.

Awesome! I really like looking at bugs. I know, I’m weird like that. But these are so fanciful and like others said – the GIFs really add to the images without making them gaudy or kitchy.
