I just caught up with Montreal artist Marina Dieul’s win for the People’s Choice award at last month’s Kingston Prize exhibit in Calgary. I have posted about her before (here) and she is clearly a rising star. The Kingston is a competition for recent portraits of Canadians by Canadian artists, and has been held every two years since 2005.

Striking image and fantastic artistry! Just clicked over to the Kingston site and what an impressive group of portraitists and portraits. Thanks for making us aware of all this.

Anytime, stay tuned. She’s amazing and I’m sure we’ll hear more about her. Portraiture (like Canadian landscape art) has become so innovative. And BTW, still love your blog!
