Zemer Peled examines beauty and brutality in the natural world in works formed of thousands of hand crafted ceramic shards constructed into sculptures and installations.
Using a slab roller Peled makes sheets of clay which are fired, and then smashed into pieces with a hammer, creating a contrast between soft and solid material.
Her works channel flowers or sea creatures, many taking their colour from the blue cobalt of traditional Japanese pottery.
