A watercolor painting of a white lotus flower surrounded by green lily pads and dark blue water.

In case you have doubts anyone is buying art in these economically troubled times, this stunning lithograph by the late American artist Joseph Raffael went for five times its estimate at Heffel Fine Art last month. But it’s posted here mainly because it’s a delight for a winter Sunday morning on the first day of the month that leads to spring.

Joseph Raffael, Winter Moon, 1978, editioned 28/72, 20 x 26 in,ย 50.8 x 66 cm via Heffel from a private collection in Vancouver.
