“His most recent body of work blurs the lines of what traditional figurative art should be,” says The Artist Project, where his work will show April 13 to 16. “His fearless colour palette and bold brushstrokes create subdued drama out of common place subjects.”

Buttazzoni says he launches a new series of originals every few months, his latest being portraits headed to Exhibition Place in Toronto for The Artist Project in April. A couple more examples, from his website, below.

Anthony Buttazzoni is a self-taught artist raised in Northern Ontario, now living in Bloomfield in Prince Edward County, Ontario. He works in oil and watercolour paints, charcoal, and ink.
