This illustrated history of a Christmas tree is a great example of the late Chandler O’Leary’s style. The illustrator and author was well known for her Drawn the Road Again blog and her astute observations.

This one is called Tinsel Tunes

Topsy Turvy Tannenbaum

O’Leary drew the next one (titled Star Light Star Bright) to celebrate the Christmas star on top of the former Macy’s building in Seattle, a 160-foot beacon with over 3,000 bulbs.
Now, I have a thing for mid-century Christmas decorations anyway. But a 160-foot star thatโs been glowing in all its 4300-bulb glory for over fifty years running? Well, thatโs a holiday tradition I can get behind.
