A colorful wall display featuring a grid of abstract floral and plant-themed artworks in various vibrant colors and patterns.

Painter Balint Zsako sees the flowers in this installation as stand-ins for human bodies engaged in scenes of love, friendship, isolation and even violence, the Patel Brown gallery notes.

A series of abstract paintings arranged on a white wall, featuring colorful backgrounds with intertwining lines and shapes in various shades, creating a playful and dynamic visual composition.

“Very much like the interactions between people in a busy city, the flowers are compelling because they mirror the mutability and complexity of everyday human relationships.”

The Multiple Meanings of Tango

This exhibition, on through Apirl 25, 2026, uses the multiple meanings of tango as a device:

The most immediately recognizable reference is a style of dance known for its tension and closeness, packed with emotion and curiosity. Alternatively, tango is used as a military code for target or enemy; existing in phonetically opened and layered dialogue. Thirdly, Tango is the name of a particular orange-yellow color. In this series all of these references come together to inform the world of the paintings.

As is always the case, the artist explains things best . . . this Instagram reel is worth the watch.
