Pablo Picasso’s daughter Paloma once said: ‘We had a menagerie in the house. My father was like St. Francis of Assisi – animals couldn’t resist his aura.’ The Spanish painter, sculptor, printmaker and ceramicist had an enduring love of the animal kingdom.
