There’s nothing so precious at this time of year as anticipating growth in the garden and the full on arrival of spring. These edgy ceramic works by British sculptor France Doherty perfectly fit the promise of new growth.
“My inspiration comes from flowers and plants that we see all around us, in gardens, fields even cracks in the pavement,” Doherty says. “I particularly love the secret worlds inside these flowers, in the patterns and textures hidden away that give a continuing sense of promise and renewal.”

Thank you for the awesome post. I’m always curious about what other modern artists like myself are interested in.

Gorgeous and so lifelike! I’ve tried to make stuff with clay. I tend to be pretty expert at making rocks. 😉

I like that her work is substantial, but still delicate. Wonderful stuff.
