In a world saturated with color and chaos, the purity of F. (Francis) Lipariโ€™s starklyย minimalย paintings emanate a sense of calm.

The French-Canadian artistโ€™s restrained visual language comes from the worlds ofย graphic designย and advertising: clean, precise, graphic lines andย linear perspectives.

Lipariโ€™s works bring to mind those of the iconic Canadian painters Alex Colville or Christopher Pratt.

Lipari’s subject matter is rooted in the artistโ€™s recurrent delight in barns and shacks found in otherwise barren landscapes.

Lipari worked as an art director at a Montreal advertising firm before turning to painting. His acrylic-on-canvas works offer a feeling of infinite light and space.
