Artists Shawn O’Keefe and Collin Elder showcase their individual styles and unique voices when depicting the Canadian landscape in this collection of new paintings on exhibition in Victoria, B.C.

Elder, born in Banff, AB and now based in Victoria, began oil painting while pursuing a career in ecological restoration, which, along with a degree in biology, has focused his art on how we relate to landscape and wilderness.

Shawn O’Keefe studied graphic design at Vancouver Island University and has been involved in numerous collaborations, including designing for Phillips Brewery in Victoria. He says that “at its very best the brush works like a conduit bringing out the spirit of the shorelines and mountainsides when the marks are true.”

These are really spectacular! I thought the middle was my favorite, but that last one with the clouds… wow!
Thanks for your thoughts on these. I would be equally unable to pick a favourite, so true.
