Flight Paths and Roadside Billboards

There’s something almost peaceful in Randy Hryhorczuk’s art about flight.  The color charged sky diverts the eye from the massive presence of the planes, mitigating the impact of such large aircraft on such low flight paths.

I find it hard to take my eyes of these works, displayed on Hryhorczuk’s site.

The Toronto artist is best known for vibrant billboard paintings, equally eye-grabbing.  The Canvas Gallery (Art on Dupont) which handles his work puts it this way:

“His bright colour palette, urban landscapes and exaggerated perspectives in  his large oil panels provide a powerful impact on the viewer.”
