Time for some David Hockney. The Guggenheim Bilbao offers A Bigger Picture, the first major Spanish exhibition to celebrate the crucial role of landscape in the career of this artist, considered the most important living British painter.
-Woldgate Woods, 21, 23 & 29 November 2006
Bright landscapes inspired by his native Yorkshire form the core of the exhibition which brings together on one floor nearly 190 works—oil paintings, charcoals, iPad drawings, sketchbooks and digital videos—most of which have been created in the past eight years. Many of the works are large, some the size of billboards.

The landscapes are his best work by far… awe-inspiring!
I know, so true. He has such a signature style, doesn’t he?
amazing!
WOW!
I’m so glad he got over his wishy-washy watercolour & ipad painting phase. These are amazing.
Yes, so bold and strong and vibrating, aren’t they? Thanks.
