Calgary freelance illustrator Sho Uehara’s cartoon concepts are marvelous. The Alberta College of Art & Design grad’s sketchbooks are full of these endearing cartoon characters. I’m not normally a fan of character design, but these sketches are more sophisticated and engaging than the norm. See more of her work on Behance, here.

So I totally agree with you. I don’t see work like this very often in the concept character field, although artists who do concepts are obviously very talented. It’s just not my thing. These, though, are hard to resist. Thanks for your support!
