The Couch: Concrete in the Ukraine

Couch1

This inspired piece of public art is 12 tons of solid painted concrete, with a 2.5-metre lamp behind it. It was created by architects Slava Balbek and Artem Zavarzin (the 2B Group ) for a residential complex in Kiev, Ukraine as a comfortable and cozy outdoor space.  The process shots that follow show what a major undertaking it was.

  1. The colour grabs me. How clever that it looks really, really comfy and nifty too with that pillow that lights up.
