William Bouguereau’s La Jeunesse de Bacchus (The Youth of Bacchus) has been in the French painter’s Paris studio since 1884, and has previously left only three times for exhibition. Now, the painting is going to New York, to be offered by the direct descendants of Bouguereau at Sotheby’s.
