A self-described “colourist,” Danielle Lanteigne makes her lines vibrate. She is on exhibition later this month at Thompson Landry in Toronto. (Make sure you click to enlarge this image for a look at the technique.)

Lanteigne transforms everyday objects into colorful compositions, reshaping the reality of the object, as well as our own. Her exhibition runs April 20 to May 10.

For Lanteigne, painting and drawing are necessities, special moments she allows herself in order to keep balance. An emotional painter, Lanteigne says the journey of creation is more vital than the completed piece.

Glorious is a great description for that one, especially at this time of year when we’re yearning for colour. Thanks for that.

I always especially like an honest reaction to art. Thank you for that. Not everyone takes the time.

Not wanting to offend, I was hesitant to respond with my true reaction. Thank you for not taking it personally, J, as some might. 🙂
