The philosophy of Yoga is behind the stillness and detachment in the portraits of Marina Nazarova. Her practice revolves around painting anonymous female portraits set in abstract settings.

These images are of new work just released to Canvas Gallery in Toronto, which represents Nazarova.

Nazarova is a Russian-Canadian artist currently based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. She holds a BFA in Painting from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, Vancouver, and studied at Lโ€™ร‰cole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
