Wilf Perrault: Beauty of the Commonplace

Even the titles of the works of  Saskatchewan artist Wilf Perrault reflect the simplicity of daily life: Home Time (above), Kitchen Lights (below).  His meticulous paintings of back alleys and streetscapes in Regina, where he has worked since the 1970s, create an understanding of the beauty of the commonplace. These scenes by one of western Canada’s best known artists capture the cool tones of a prairie winter.
