Halifax-based freelance photographer Shaun Lowe’s brilliant color shots help lift the seasonal blues. This field of lush canola stretches to the sea. Below, a favorite subject: an isolated, crumbling farmhouse.

Wonderful photography.
Who knew canola was so beautiful in bloom! Ok, maybe those of you who live near the fields – but awesome color. I thought the first one was a painting when I first saw the preview on your FB page!
Again and again, I am amazed by the precision of gifted photographers.
Amazing. Love the colors and the feel they give when looking at them.
You’re right, they really do have a special, rural feeling.
Reblogged this on Makere's Blog.
Oh yes, minus 35 and looking at these wonderful images? Love!! Thank you 🙂
Really makes a bit of a difference, doesn’t it.
You are a wonderful photographer…lovely photos!
[…] you Canadian Art Junkie for sharing the photo above in her post Shaun Lowe: Canola, Sunshine & The Sea. See her post […]
This artist’s use of color is so vibrant and beautiful and just lovely!
Exactly. Looks more like a painting.
Beautiful color!
I like that he’s captured the natural color of the canola so beautifully.
These are gorgeous.
True and some of his other photo art is equally exquisite.
It took me a while to realize that these are photos, not paintings! Love them all!
I also had to look twice to realize they were photographs, so true.
Definitely uplifting images. The bright intense colors wake me up to a better day, after seeing the dank grey out of my window! Thank you for this timely post Boomer!
You’re welcome, and stay warm.
You stay warm, too!
Brilliant and spirit-lifting, that’s for sure!
Yes really, especially on a day like this (sleet, ice, ugh)
