“Beauty Surrounds” Flameworked soft glass & brass mesh, 47 x 36 x 4.5 in.

Glass artist Tanya Lyons works with glass, natural materials and found objects, often influenced by her training in Japan. After 14 years in Quebec, Lyons is now based in the Madawaska Valley where she continues her sculptural work in studio and teaches in the glass program at the Haliburton School of Art and Design.

Lyons explains her artistry, and talks about her Forest Dress in this video.

Lyons graduated with honours from the Sheridan College glass program, studied at the University of Art & Design Helsinki, the Atlin Art Center in BC, and completed a graduate program at the Toyama Institute of Glass Art in Toyama, Japan.
