Hollywood Greed

Artist Elise Conlin’s playful imagery won the Student Purchase award at the 58th Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, a contemporary showcase that attracts more than 100,000 patrons (who spend over $2 million during the three-day weekend).  The Toronto illustrator is enrolled in the Bachelor of Design program at OCAD University.

Conlin’s Hunting Grounds (above) and Hollywood Greed (top of post) are part of a series she created at OCAD called The Elites, focused on social injustice in the film industry.

From The Elites

The series “examines the dark sides of Hollywood and reveals the dangerous biases of a culture that has power in shaping and redefining our worldviews.”

NOTE: An earlier version of this post incorrectly named Conlin’s award at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair as Best of Painting. Apologies to Conlin and the TOAF.
