The McCord Stewart Museum traces 150 years of Mount Royal Parkโs history through 50 archival images drawn from the museum’s collections.

The parkโs design follows the vision of Frederick Law Olmstedโthe landscape architect also behind New Yorkโs Central Park. Mount Royal has been a natural refuge at the heart of Montreal since 1876.

This photographic retrospective celebrates the deep bond between Montreal and the mountain, while also inviting reflection on mobility and access, the ecological pressures that come with popularity, and the quieter, less visible stories hidden within the photographic archives.

The exhibition was created to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Mount Royal Park.

Note: The visuals are accessible out of doors. See more at the museum site here.
